Human
In the case of any human emergency then the Emergency services should be called immediately. In the meantime anyone with a first aid training or appropriate qualifications should be asked for their assistance. In any case a responsible adult should take the advice of the Emergency services operator until the paramedics arrive.
In the case of electric shock, no one should attempt to touch the person until the power supply has been disconnected.
Animal
Falls and other accidents
Where it appears that a serious injury (such as a break etc) has occurred, then the animal should be kept quiet and veterinary advice sought.
Heat stroke
Do not use the kitchen sink and do not over handle the rat. If a fan is available then this should be used. As soon as is practical the rat should be checked by a vet.
No rat should be brought to a show that is unwell or post surgery.
